AWS Direct Connect Now Available in Chief Telecom’s Taipei Data Center

2018/3/1

Taipei – Mar. 1, 2018 – Chief Telecom, a leading VPN service provider in Greater China, today announced the availability of AWS Direct Connect in Chief Telecom's Taipei data center, providing customers of Amazon Web Services (AWS) with a private, enterprise-grade network connection with access to AWS. The facility, located in Neihu, Taipei, is the first AWS Direct Connect location in Taiwan. Using AWS Direct Connect in the carrier-neutral Chief Telecom Taipei data center, customers can transfer business-critical data directly from their data center, office, or colocation environment, which in many cases can reduce network costs, increase bandwidth throughput, and provide a more consistent network experience. The service delivers localized, 24x7 monitoring to meet customers’ expectations of performance and security management.

Chief Telecom customers in Taipei can now use AWS Direct Connect to transfer data between their IT infrastructure and AWS, without using the public internet. AWS Direct Connect provides access to AWS services such as Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3), Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2), and Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (Amazon VPC). Enterprises wanting to use AWS services in a guaranteed bandwidth environment can rent Chief Telecom’s data center to connect to AWS directly via AWS Direct Connect or remote connections over leased lines.

An increasing number of enterprises are moving to AWS Cloud to improve end-user experience while expanding the capacity of enterprise systems, develop cloud-based enterprise application services, reduce costs, and achieve operational goals.

Johnny Liu, General Manager, Chief Telecom said: “AWS Direct Connect is a private, reliable, high-performance, and flexible cloud connectivity solution. It enables customers to enjoy AWS’s simple pay as-you-go pricing, with no minimum commitment.”
