Google Cloud Interconnect (GCI) Now Available in Chief Telecom’s Data Center

Taipei – Mar. 11, 2019 –Chief Telecom, a leading carrier neutral IDC and VPN service provider in Asia Pacific, today announced the availability of Google Cloud Interconnect Service in Chief Telecom's Taipei data center, providing customers of Google Cloud with a private, enterprise-grade network connection with access to GCP. The facility, located in Neihu, Taipei, is the first Google Cloud Dedicated and Partner Interconnect location in Taiwan. Using Google Cloud Interconnect in the carrier-neutral Chief Telecom Taipei data center, customers can transfer business-critical data directly from their data center, office, or colocation environment, which in many cases can reduce network costs, increase bandwidth throughput, and provide a more consistent network experience. The service delivers localized, 24x7 monitoring to meet customers’ expectations of performance and security management.

Customers in Taipei can now use Google Cloud Interconnect to transfer data between their on-premises datacenter and GCP, without using the public internet. Google Cloud Interconnect provides access to GCP via internal (e.g. RFC1918) network addresses, enables simplified hybrid cloud deployment and does not require the use of and management of hardware VPN devices. Companies wanting to use GCP services in a guaranteed bandwidth environment can rent Chief Telecom’s data center or remote connections over leased lines to connect to Google directly via GCI.

An increasing number of companies are moving to Google Cloud to improve end-user experience while expanding the capacity of its systems, develop cloud-based application services, reduce costs, and achieve operational goals.

Johnny Liu, President at Chief Telecom, said: “Google Cloud Interconnect is a private, reliable, high-performance and flexible cloud connectivity solution which empowers customer’s hybrid cloud environment. It enables customers to enjoy GCP’s simple pay-as-you-go pricing, with no minimum commitment.”
